Point out as many instances of metaphor, simile and descriptive language as you can. How many different plots can you list and follow? What is the effect of each of them on their own and together? What strikes you about the voice and tone of this piece? Can you point to a dramatic shift in point of view? Why do you think the author chooses to employ that shift?
